Respite care at home in Cheshire
Who it suits: A family carer who has not had a day off in months.
If you need help for a relative settling home from a hospital or nursing home stay, our staff can assist through that respite period. Each package is person-centred and tailored to the individual's needs.
Brighter Days carers are happy to visit and sit with your relative, helping with mobility or anything else that is needed, while you have a rest or attend to your own appointments.
Looking after someone is a job, even when it is done out of love. Taking a break is not a failure — it is what makes it possible to keep going.

What we help with
- Sitting with your relative while you rest or go out
- Support settling back in after hospital or a nursing home stay
- Help with mobility and moving safely around the house
- Cover for your own appointments, work or holiday
- Short-term packages — days or weeks, not open-ended commitments
What a typical week looks like
A fortnight after discharge
Daily visits while things settle, then tapering down as confidence returns.
Or one afternoon a week
A standing slot so you can count on it and plan around it.
Rates start from £25
Visits start at 30 minutes — we don't impose a one-hour minimum. Every package is quoted in writing after a free assessment.

Caring
Just a line to say a big thank you for caring and supplying care for Hilda. Thank you for a very good lot of care staff, they did us proud. I hope you go from strength to strength with Brighter Days.

Questions we get asked
- Can we book respite for a one-off week?
- Yes. Short-term packages are normal here and there is no expectation that it turns into something ongoing.
- How much notice do you need?
- It depends what is being asked for and what is already in the rounds. Ring and ask — we would rather tell you honestly we can't help this week than take the booking and let you down.
Where we provide respite care
Start with a free visit, not a commitment
We come out, meet you at home and talk through what would actually help. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation at the end of it.
