Brighter DaysSenior Companionship & Help

Companionship care at home in Cheshire

Who it suits: Someone living alone whose days have become very long.

Loneliness is not a small thing. It affects sleep, appetite, confidence and health, and it creeps up quietly on people who have always managed perfectly well on their own.

Brighter Days provides company for anyone feeling lonely or wanting support, either at home or while out and about. It might be a couple of days a week to give family a breather, or a daily routine taking in getting up, medication, meals and settling down at night.

We have a friendly, cheerful team, all devoted to making later life more enjoyable and less lonely — whatever helps make the day that bit brighter.

What we help with

  • A cup of tea and a proper conversation
  • Trips out — the garden centre, the park, a favourite spot
  • Help with hobbies, letters, photographs and puzzles
  • A regular slot in the week to look forward to
  • Relief for family who can't be there every day

What a typical week looks like

  • Twice a week, two hours

A proper visit — tea, a chat, and a trip out if the weather's kind.

  • Or every weekday, 30 minutes

A short call to break up the day and check all's well.

Rates start from £25

Visits start at 30 minutes — we don't impose a one-hour minimum. Every package is quoted in writing after a free assessment.

Someone who's had this

  • A Gem

Niki's service could not be better, she is a gem to me.
    Maureen, Knutsford
  • Grateful

The ladies were always so kind to me and mum, and each one created a special bond with my father and treated him respectfully. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend brighter Days and will always be grateful

Questions we get asked

Is this different from a befriending service?
Yes. Befriending is usually a volunteer and usually free. Ours is a trained, DBS-checked, insured carer who can also help with practical things — and who will be there at the same time every week without fail.
Can the same person come every time?
That's how we run it. We match you with one or two regular carers and keep it that way wherever we possibly can.

Start with a free visit, not a commitment

We come out, meet you at home and talk through what would actually help. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation at the end of it.
